Speaking of history, Viv and I enjoyed Time Bandits once again tonight. For some reason the scene I most remember of the film from past viewings is the somewhat confusing climactic final battle. The initial scenes, though, are really quite stunning and it was very interesting to see so many repeated themes and images from later Gilliam films.
I had also forgotten or possibly never knew that George Harrison was executive producer and recorded and composed music for the film, including the end title theme.
The most vivid part for me is always “Don’t touch it, it’s pure evil!”
Vivid in memory, I mean. I haven’t seen the thing in ages.
