I hear tell my honorary mentor, The Best Bus Driver in the World, is coming around to my point of view regarding music produced with minimal amplification and internal electronics. I’m glad to hear it – the qualities I hear in obscure field recordings and teenage punk rock singles draw me to the genres as if here was no distinction.
Mike, I was listening to country and blue grass music before, during and after my involvement with punk. I just didn’t see any connection between the two. Had a really interesting conversation on this very subject with a couple of friends last night. Gotta go. Hurry.
PS- The bands I saw last week, though playing acoustic instruments were very very amplified.
