But aren’t you using this for “business?” Don’t businesses retain the right to record conversations “for quality assurance purposes?” Just warn anyone you talk to “on the record” and erase the rest, no? There’s no way to assign a hot key to engage the record function? Like flash or something for 3rd-party calls. Surely there’s a hack there somewhere.

  2. well, Chas, I could use that reasoning. My contacts, of course, would be terribly pleased, especially if I were trying to coax them into telling me someting worth printing.

    Also, it’s on my wife’s phone – the plan is to swap sims when I need the functionality. For now I have disabled the software.

    And, no, you can’t really warn people – answer the call, and it’s recording. So they either accept it and deal with it or do not. And what about if Viv makes a call and forgets to obtain permission from her conversation partner? Isn’t that basically against the law, as the folks that taped Newt Gingrich on a cordless phone found out a few years ago?
