The Google search ‘gmail “Your session has expired. Please sign in again.” ‘ reveals that a number of folks have experienced a broken cookie problem with Firefox 1.0 and gmail, but no evidence of it affecting Safari users.

Try one of the G4-optimized builds of Firefox. Very speedy.
When I try to log in to gmail I get a blank page that says loading, only it never finishes loading. Can’t figure out how to get logged in.

Please leave your detailed browser and platform information in the comments. You can usually find the version number and name of the application in a menu item labeled ‘About.’
Regarding this hung loading problem: gmail executes at least one redirect upon loading, which I suspect to be a javascript-based settings check, providing the gmail servers with inofrmation about your last use of the system. In Safari, it’squite common for this step to hang.
Hitting ‘reload’ a couple of times generally resolves the issue. If that fails, try using a different browser or a different computer for a quick fix.
My initial topic for this post was a different problem, though.
