Alrighty! MT is now running against MySQL, which I was hoping would improve rebuild performance.
Alas, no.
Could I even do brute pforce category reassingments? Well, maybe; but sadly the fields under “entry_category” are … null. So; hm, still pluggin’. I guess I’ll have to, like, RTFM and find the schema.
Always always the tradeoff b/t the convenience of access and speed, especially in large-scale operations, in server-oriented apps. Always.
Are you still doing the weblogs.com ping when you post? I haven’t been getting any updates via blogtoaster, wanted to track where the error might be. Still get Bells and Whistles updates, tho. Any joy with trackback?
Hm, I don’t know if it’s pinging weblogs.com. I didn’t do anything to set up the ping there in the first place (at least not on the MT end – I did DL Radio to look at for a day or two).
I have not used trackback yet, mostly because I haven’t really examined it to know what it is or is supposed to do. I’m not sure why, but it’s kind of an obtuse feature to me.
For no readily apparent reason, the “ping weblogs.com” option in prefs was turned off.
