Ars Technica on Panther

Mac OS X 10.3 Panther: Ars Technica goes to town on the new Mac OS release.

I’m in no hurry for Panther. My machines are rather long in the tooth. As I noted earlier, I’m battling to just get them to the level of functionality I had previously.

Panther has been faster on every machine I've tried it on, save the sawtooth g4 where it wound up disabling quartz extreme on the updated video card.

It's even a good bit snappier on my wife's ibook/500, which is non-quartz extreme and not that far off of the processing power of a wallstreet. (I think).
